The shot to shot calibrator enables the user to verify the validity of measurements made by an EMI2 or a MIQ with a manually adjustable range of 5 to 70 mm3 per shot and with a frequency up to 60 shots per minute and with a maximum delivered pressure of 7 bars. System description The system is divided into two main parts : - a roller table where the electronics rack and the fuel tank are fixed. - a specific micro pump with a dummy load injector at the output which has to be assembled on the EMI2 mechanics. The 6U rack is composed of a power supply board, a power interface board to drive the pump and a micro controller board for screen and keyboard control. On the front panel, are installed : a 4-line, 20-column fluorescent display. a IP 65, 16-button keypad. a Jaeger 14-pin connector to be connected to the micro pump. On the rear panel : 2 BNCs to be connected to the 1/rev and 3600/rev inputs of the EMI2. a Sub-D9 connector for RS-232 C serial link connection. a main AC power input with earth connection.. Principle The micro pump with its dummy load injector is fixed on the top of the EMI2 mechanics like a standard injector. As a first step, the test fluid circuitry has to be purged: this takes few minutes. After that, the verification process can begin. The system works continuously at 60 shots per minute. The EMI2 displays the measurement with an average measurement, gives the standard deviation and verified average point. This test has to be used without counter pressure inside the EMI2 sensor. In addition, you can combine this equipment with the verification kit (EFS 8111). The average measurements taken are cumulated inside the scales and this allows you to check the precision and the repeatability of the EMI2. This assembly provides the calibration of the EMI2 sensor. Equipment advantages An EMI2 or a MIQ can be verified on-site, under real usage conditions without being dismantled. The system can verifiy the EMI2 sensor independently of other equipment such as a test bench, a high pressure rail, a high pressure pump, etc...
